Renowned actor and accomplished author, Dave Courtney, known as a seasoned ex-gang member in London, passed away at the tender age of 64. His life was concluded at his reside on Chestnut Rise, Plumstead. The sad event took place in the wee hours of a quiet Sunday morning.
There was a report, deeply enshrouded with grief, on his Instagram official handle which stated that he died by suicide. “It is with profound sorrow that we lay bare the unsettling news of Dave Courtney’s departure from this world at the age of 64,” the post read.
Courtney, who boasted of being linked with the infamous Kray twins, was speculated to be the muse behind Vinnie Jones’s character in the renowned gangster film by Guy Ritchie, known as Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels.
Following his decision to abandon the life of lawlessness, Courtney carved a niche for himself in literature and acting. Six published books to his credit and a leading role in a film entitled ‘Hell to Pay’ were his commendable achievements in his post-gangster life.
In his last Facebook post, he was spotted basking in an ecstatic moment as Charlton Athletic emerged victorious against Reading with a sweeping 4-0 win on a Saturday.
The Metropolitan Police reported that they were at an address on Chestnut Rise at approximately 11:25 BST, responding to a grim report of a man found no longer alive. The deceased was confirmed to be a 64-year-old man at the location, the enforcement entity reported.
The bereaved family has been notified about the unfortunate event. Although the formal identification is yet to be carried out, Metropolitan Police are treating the demise as unexpected and it is currently under investigation. Thus far, there hasn’t been any arrests made in association with this incident.
